Reminder: Ladies, men are not the prize, you are (☞⌐▀͡ ͜ʖ͡▀ )☞. You should appreciate a man who treats you as such. Always remember who you are.

He asked me what my favorite flowers were, and without hesitation I said “I love lilies. Daisies and sunflowers are gorgeous too, but lily, she’s that girl.♡^▽^♡.” I then went on to describe my ideal bouquet:
- Lilies (duh)
- Daisies
- Baby’s breath
- Carnations
Two days later, on my birthday, I received that EXACT bouquet of flowers. It was in that moment, and all the other moments when admiring my flowers, that I knew I was kept by someone who hears me and sees me (✿╹◡╹).
I know what you’re thinking, “He got you flowers…that’s the bare minimum babe.” I know. But not every man will listen to you share with him the type of flowers you like; all they may hear is that you like flowers. Some hear that you like flowers and don’t ever buy you any (⩺_⩹). I’ve always found that odd, makes me wonder what men have against flowers…or why they lack the skill of listening to the women they claim to have romantic interest in (✖﹏✖).
Receiving that bouquet wasn’t the first from him. I’ve been getting flowers ever since our first date; and every bouquet has had lilies in them. A reminder that those who listen will care enough so that the thought is not the only thing that counts.
For so long I thought that lilies were the birth flower for the month of April, come to find out it’s actual daisies and sweet peas. That was always one of the main reasons why they were a favorite of mine; that on top of the flower being large and prominent when fully bloomed. And don’t get me started on the variety of colors, pink and white lilies always stood out to me (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡ ✧*。!
Now, in this point of my life, I look at lilies as a symbol of purity, renewal, and passion.
Purity: authenticity and naturalness as I continue to engage in the newness of this relationship, and to nourish those that nourish me.
Renewal: restoring my faith in romance and giving the activity of dating another chance.
Passion: remembering that I should have a deep desire for the people and interests that helps me to recall who I am.
As I accept this flower as a representation all of the above– all i can imagine is he and I daring to love each other.
Can you imagine a love like that?
